A Day in the City

I spent the day exploring Old City, Philadelphia with some friends, and I was not disappointed. Although I’ve grown up in the area my whole life, I still have tons to discover when it comes to Philadelphia. Obviously, my first thought was, what to wear? For a hot summer day full of walking and attractions, I chose an outfit that was simple and on-trend.

When I checked the forecast for the day, it was a whopping 86 degrees, so I knew I wanted to wear pieces that were thin and breezy, and that I didn’t have to worry about sweating in. I chose this basic square-cut bodysuit with some frills on it on top, and a ripped denim skirt on bottom. This bodysuit is one of my favorite things in my closet because it was so cheap and can lend itself to literally any occasion! Both bodysuits and denim skirts are trending this summer, as part of a recent movement that is very reminiscent of the ’90s. Black and denim are obvious staples in any girl’s (and guy’s) closet, and pairing them together, you can do no wrong.

I added my patent leather Puma sneakers to finish off this look. These sneakers are everything to me-I think they’re effortlessly cool, look way more expensive than they are, and add a cool, street vibe to any look. For a day of walking around the city, I definitely prefer sneakers to an uncomfortable, complicated sandal.

For accessories, I kept it basic with my rose gold circle sunglasses and a black hobo bag. The zipper accents and adjustable strap on this bag are two cool features that make it more than just a plain black bag, and it’s a piece that I really think fits into my aesthetic. To me, this look embodies trend, personal style, and comfort, all rolled into one, which makes it perfect for a day out in the city. I hope you guys enjoyed this look!

XO,
Ally
